Jennifer Anders

Jennifer (she/her/hers) graduated from Kent State University with a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is a licensed professional clinical counselor with a supervisor designation in the state of Ohio and has completed LGBTQIA affirming practice courses.

Jennifer has experience working in community mental health in an outpatient, in-home and school-based setting; she has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Jennifer uses a person-centered approach to building the therapeutic alliance with her clients. Jennifer is trained in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and has completed part one and part two of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Jennifer has facilitated DBT, LGBTQIA, and Choices groups. Jennifer’s counseling style is a person-centered approach with a social justice perspective. Jennifer sees clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, trauma, and affirming their gender identity. Jennifer places a high priority on the therapeutic alliance and excels at walking side by side with her clients on their therapeutic journey.
